Proper Restraint Many dogs enjoy riding in the car: Let them stare out the window and bark at passing landmarks, and they’re good to go. Still, even though your puppy is unlikely to panic and therefore doesn’t need to be put in a pet carrier, that doesn’t mean that it’s ever a good idea to have an unrestrained animal loose in the car. Make sure to put your pet in a harness before getting in the car and have someone other than the driver hold on to the leash. This allows you to focus on the road as required.
Don’t Forget the Dishes You can ask the concierge for a toothbrush and toothpaste at midnight and usually end the day with your excellent dental hygiene intact, but very few hotels have spare dog bowls hanging around. Plus, you get to have a snack at the occasional rest stop, so why can’t your dog? Be kind to your dog and don’t forget to bring its food and water dishes.
